ENSEMBLE
The Manotick Brass Ensemble was formed in 2003 to provide an opportunity for brass instrument players in the Manotick area to get together on a regular basis. The ensemble has substitute players for trumpet and French horn but performs as a brass quintet which plays regularly at local events and activities. The members of the Manotick Brass Ensemble enjoy making music together and share that enjoyment with their audiences. The members of the ensemble are:

Kazimier Samujlo - trumpetA school music teacher since 1975, Kaz has conducted a variety of choirs and community bands. He has been a member of the Maple Leaf Brass Band for the past ten years where he doubles on flugelhorn and Eb soprano cornet. Kaz is one of the few certified piano tuners in Ottawa.

Martin Luce - trombone.Martin has played trombone for the past ten years and plays solo and as a member of small groups in the Manotick area. Martin and Kazimier founded the Manotick Brass Ensemble and Martin manages the group.

John Mitchell - trumpetJohn has played trumpet for the past twenty years and currently plays with a number of jazz bands in the Ottawa area. He also plays with the Ottawa Community Concert Band.

Stewart Winter - french horn.Stewart has been playing French horn since elementary school. He has played with a number of community bands and orchestras.

Harold Floysvik - tuba.Harold has played tuba in the Ottawa area for a number of years. Harold is also a member of the Maple Leaf Brass Band.

Tony Crewe - bass trombone and tuba.Tony joined Manotick Brass in 2008.
